Label Materials

There are a great many label materials from which to choose—white and non-white, smooth and textured.

Estate Papers
Mill-manufactured Estate Papers come in white and cream colors and in several different textured surface patterns. These papers are most commonly used to produce labels with a feel and look of the "Old World". Inks are easily absorbed into the surfaces, producing very muted colors. The appearance is similar to the look produced when printing on rough, porous, bond papers.

Custom Textured Papers
An alternative to mill-manufactured, textured, Estate Papers, is Richmark Label's own inline texturing process. Two texture patterns are currently available which can be applied to any paper label material. Inline texturing is an excellent choice when needing a textured surface and bright color reproduction that cannot be achieved using Estate Papers. Bright color reproduction requires papers with smooth surfaces which Estate Papers do not possess. These papers are only available in white, but can be flood-coated any color desired.

Litho and Gloss Papers
Not all label designs require unusual materials. We provide standard litho (semi-gloss) and gloss wine label papers for these designs.

Clear Label Material
Less traditional, but growing in popularity, is a clear, virtually transparent, label material. There is no texturing option, but the purpose here is to produce a "no label look" appearance.

Samples of all of these materials and "looks" are available upon request. Details concerning adhesives, shapes, and liner papers will be handled at the time face materials are discussed with your Richmark Label sales representative.
